How I use Spotify without ads for free
You don't have to pay Spotify premium to access free music on your desktop
A lot of people are surprised when I open Spotify on my computer and it looks almost like the regular Spotify desktop, except that it plays with no ads even though it’s the free version. The actual solution is pretty straightforward.
All I’m doing is setting it up as a PWA, which is the equivalent of opening the website in a new headless window, but with all of my browser extensions still active. This means that Adblock still works, and I can listen to as many songs as I’d like without any interruptions.
This doesn’t work for mobile, but since I enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks on my phone, it’s actually a good incentive to ensure that I listen to them when on the move.
I highly recommend setting up your daily drivers as PWAs, because it’s way faster to jump to a new window than Alt-Tab to your browser and search your tabs.
