The Yale I Remember
The things I miss, the things I learned, and what I wish someone had told me while I was there.
I loved Yale while I was there. I love it even more now that I’ve left.
I’m making this collection, “Braden Loves Yale,” because the things I miss about Yale are more specific than the brochure version.
I don’t miss the name, the credential, or the transcript. I miss how easy it was to see five friends in one day. I miss how a seminar could completely reshape my interests. And I miss how everyone seemed to have some strange combination of passions that didn’t fit neatly into a major.
I want to share the Yale I remember: the friendships, meals, courses, rituals, and weird little rules that made daily life feel so distinct. And along the way, some of the things I wish I’d known while I was there.
So anyways, I hope you enjoy! I hope you find something here to love about Yale, too.
