I Fell in Love With Cloth Tote Bags in Southeast Asia
My backpack became my luggage, and the tote became my everyday bag.
When I was in Southeast Asia, I was especially in love with large cloth tote bags.
A cloth tote basically became my backpack, without covering my whole back and making it sweaty. I kept my laptop in it, along with the things I wanted to reach quickly, like sunscreen. It was so much easier to take my laptop out when I wanted to sit down and work.
My backpack became more like luggage or a carry-on. The tote became my everyday bag.
I really liked that inversion. All the quick-access things were in the cloth bag. Even when I wore the backpack, having the laptop out of it made it feel more breathable against my back. For daily use, I could carry the tote with much less strain and sweat.
It’s one of the biggest things I would recommend for a humid climate. A large cloth tote, with your laptop and the things you actually want to reach during the day.
